LOA Scholarship

Supporting Student-Athletes Since 1998

The Lakeland Officials Association (LOA) is deeply committed to supporting the growth of local sports—not just by recruiting and training quality officials, but also by giving back to the communities we serve.

In 1998, we launched the LOA Scholarship Fund to recognize exceptional senior student-athletes in Waukesha County who demonstrate:

Outstanding athletic and academic achievements
Strong character and leadership
Dedication to their school and community
Since its inception, the program has proudly awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to help graduating seniors pursue higher education at colleges or technical schools.

How the Program Works

Each year, LOA awards scholarships to deserving Waukesha County high school seniors. These awards are funded entirely by LOA officials, who voluntarily donate a portion of their game earnings throughout the year.

This act of giving back reflects our members’ gratitude to the schools, communities, and athletic programs that shaped their own lives.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients are carefully chosen by our dedicated LOA Scholarship Committee. Each application is evaluated based on several factors, including:

^

Grade Point Average (GPA) and overall academic performance

^
Athletic participation and achievements
^
Clubs and extracurricular involvement
^
Community service and volunteer work
^
Work history and personal commitment
Final selections are made during the annual May review process, with awards presented personally to students at their high school commencement ceremonies.
